Ceremony is February 15
On Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, the Beaverton Rural Schools Athletic Hall of Fame will induct three-year varsity football player Murray Calhoun, who quarterbacked the Beavers to the 1964 NEMC championship; Sherm Fassett, Beaverton’s first football announcer who served as the Beavers’ public address voice for 34 years; and Rhonda Frasher Croutch, a three-year varsity softball standout who later coached the Beavers’ softball team for five years.
Enshrinement ceremonies will be held between the boys’ junior varsity and varsity basketball games against Meridian, at approximately 7:30 pm.
Prior to that, a public reception will be held in the school cafeteria at 6:00 pm for honorees, their families, and any well-wishers who would like to attend. Existing members of the hall of fame are encouraged to attend.
