The Beaverton Athletic Hall of Fame recently inducted two new members in front of a packed Beaverton High School gym. The Hall was established by volunteers with a mission to recognize outstanding student athletes that have had significant Beaverton Athletic careers or those who have contributed significantly over a lengthy period of time to the Beaverton athletic program(s) in some manner.
Newly selected members are longtime Beaverton Band Director, Kathy Kintner and multi-sport and academic standout, Eric Richardson. “These two individuals epitomize what the Hall seeks in its members” said Hall Committee volunteer Scott Govitz. Kintner has spent her entire 30 year career as Band Director for Beaverton Schools, taking part with her band students in hundreds of sporting and community events during that period. Richardson who graduated at the top of his class and is now practicing dentistry in southern Michigan, was a multiyear, multi sport standout who received many accolades for his years as a high school football player. Richardson went on to play for the University of Pennsylvania as a kick returner and defensive back including playing on the Ivy League championship team of 2000.
