(BEAVERTON) – With Hall of Fame night approaching on Jan. 24, the Beaverton Rural Schools Athletic Hall of Fame has announced its 2020 class of inductees.
Entries this year are all-state basketball standout Jennifer Johnston (BHS 1994), a distinguished playmaker on the court; Bill Arnold (BHS 1987), an all-stater in cross-country and track and field; and longtime Varsity Basketball Manager Allen Friday (BHS 1996), who has served the team for 25 years.
Enshrinement will take place between the JV and Varsity boys’ basketball games on Jan. 24. A public reception will be held in the gymnasium’s mezzanine beginning at 6 p.m. for honorees, their families and any well-wishers who would like to attend. Existing members of the Hall in particular are encouraged to take part.
The Beaverton Hall of Fame was established by a group of community volunteers in an effort to recognize outstanding student athletes and friends of the game who have had significant Beaverton athletic careers or who have contributed significantly over a lengthy period of time to Beaverton athletics. Biographies, statistics and photos for all members of the Hall of Fame are available at www.beavertonhalloffame.com.
